Job Responsibilities:
• Experience in system administration and maintenance of iSeries servers
• Experience with IBM LPAR, VIOS and infrastructure management
• Good knowledge of OS/400 and security such as systems hardening and work on Raz-Lee Security
• Support IBM WebSphere application deployment/troubleshooting
• Good knowledge on backup and replication solutions Rocket iCluster and IBM BRMS
• Have worked on patch management for iSeries OS and PTF/Fixes upgrade
• Implementing high availability solution like PowerHA
• Performance tuning and Capacity Planning for iSeries
• Plan and perform project management for iSeries Migration and OS upgrade
• Ensure iSeries servers and related components and services are properly monitored via Performance Data Investigator and IBM Navigator
• Experience with the Mapping Suites software at version 10.5
• Configure and manage the Halcyon server audit software
• Hardware knowledge on IBM Power 9 and Power 10
• Knowledge of Third Party software like IBM MQ, Sterling Connect Direct and Guardian Key Lifecycle Manager
• Able to connect IBM Power series to EMC storage for backups and DR setup
• Hands-on with SAN Storage Systems and connectivity over SAN switches
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
Requirements and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
- 3+ years of experience Administering IBM AS400 systems
- Experience in AS400 Security Management & Communications
- Sound knowledge and experience supporting varying levels of IBM’s AS400 Operating Systems and license programs and AS400 Virtualization
- Solid knowledge and experience working with the AS400 infrastructure components
- Additional software experience such as IBM iSeries Access would be an added advantage
